Daily Scoop at The Wodonga Children’s Fair

Here we are with our glorious setup! This was the first time we were serving our ice cream away from the shop!

New flavour – Mocha

At The Daily Scoop we always look for ways to please our customers with new flavours. After all – new experiences make our life exciting..! So we now have another new flavour to offer – mocha, which is a blend of two of our very popular flavours – chocolate and coffee.

The Daily Scoop Reward Card

At The Daily Scoop we are very keen to reward our customers loyalty with a reward. We have a card which allows you to collect a free ice cream after seven purchases. Please ask for one – when the shop is busy we sometimes forget to offer you one… Those that fill the card will get a free single scooop of ice cream -  and as an added bonus when you redeem the card we put it into a barrel for a monthly draw of a take home pack of our delicious ice cream! We already had two winners, it was Giselle for the month of September, and tom for the month of October. Try to get into the next draw by filling your card in by end of November!

First Day of the New Season

Daily Scoop Open for New Season

We had a successful first day of the season, with many of our customers coming in delighted that we are back. The first batch of ice cream was excellent and we made 10 flavours to suit the weather – not yet that hot, but with plenty of sunshine! Our first customer at the 11AM opening was surprisingly not a local – Mavis drove to us from Jindera on the other side of Albury. It was her first time to visit The Daily Scoop. She might have thought it is “just another ice cream shop”, but a minute after she walked out with her ice cream she was back with the comment: “I have to tell you – this is yummy!” Well, yes, Mavis seems to be one person that knows good fodd when she tastes it!

Opening the Second Season!!!

This Friday 12 September 2008 we will be opening our second summer season. We decided to continue with the tradition of cooking fresh delicious ice cream every day using traditional European recipe. Our ice cream is made using the best local ingredients, and we pride ourselves on trying to please even the most discerning gourmet customers.

We will be launching several new products this season and welcome your feedback and suggestions! We will also introduce new staff members which we hope will contribute to our customer service reputation.

School Excursion Success

We had a great time welcoming a school excursion from the Wodonga Primary School to The Daily Scoop. Everyone had sampled our wonderful ice cream and heard a brief introduction – kids could then play Giant Connect Four outside before heading back to school.

Interesting questions were fielded by the students who were very inquisitive about the art of making fresh ice cream by hand. We hope they will come back again as the best informed customers!

A big “Thank you” goes to the teachers who organised the visit, and to all the children who were all very disciplined and well-behaved! 

Earth Hour in The Daily Scoop

On 29th March 2008 we took part in Earth Hour between 8 and 9 PM. Of course we could not turn off our freezers, but the lights went off and we served our delicious ice cream to customers in cosy atmosphere of candle lights.
We were greatly appreciated by customers in taking part, and had a nice writeup in the Border Mail! Sure – we’ll do it again next year, and maybe even make our own regular Earth hour next season…

New Yorkers coming to The Tastiest Destination!

On 14 March 2008 when Wodonga CBD came to life for the regular Lounging On High festival the crew from New York’s StreetFilms.org filmed the festivities. With a lot of entertainment provided by the Tallangatta Circus and musicians such as Neil Rosser and Damian Neil everyone had a great time. Thanks to StreetFilms you can now see the movie!

Carnivale was WILD and more to come…!

As any of those that attended can confirm Carnivale WILD was an exceptional event – with thousands of people attending festivities in Wodonga CBD on 8th March 2008. And there is more to come with the Chryslers On The Murray next week.

Holidays in Wodonga, anyone?

We have been quite right it turns out in our attempt to become “The Tastiest Destination”. A family from Geelong came in on the weekend, and mentioned that even though they came to visit their relatives it was our ice cream that made them to plan the trip! Well, we might believe part of it – because as they said their relatives live in Albury Apparently the best ice cream in the world is well worth driving to…
